Gitagum is a fifth class municipality in the province of +Misamis Oriental, + Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it had a population of 16,098 people.

Burnay is a barangay of the philippine municipality Gitagum
in the province Misamis Oriental in Northern Mindanao which is part of the
Mindanao group of islands.
Burnay is one of the barangays which are in the outlying
area of Municipality Gitagum.
The municipality Gitagum with a population of about 14,391
and its 11 barangays belong to the partly urban areas in the Philippines. While
some of the barangays developed modern urban structures, some others,
especially those which are seated in the outlying areas, remained rural. By the
end of 2007 Burnay had 1,268 residents.
